Chaturanga "Four" Strength

Four-Limbed Staff Pose or commonly called "Chaturanga" comes from Sanskrit words: "Chatur" — meaning "four" ... "Asana" — meaning "pose".

yoga training

Chaturanga strengthens and tones the wrists, arms, abdominal muscles, and lower back. It prepares the body for more challenging arm balances. Similar to a traditional push-up, it also strengthens the muscles surrounding the spine, which helps to improve posture.

Physical Benefits:
- Strengthens arm, shoulder, and leg muscles
- Develops core stability
- Prepares body for inversions and arm balances

Emotional Benefits:
- Increases stamina
- Invigorates the mind and body

Join us as we breakdown the ever challenging “yoga push up”, the Chaturanga.
Ensure that your yoga practice is strong, yet safe, by learning how to activate the correct muscles and find proper alignment throughout your body. In this 75 minute yoga workshop, we’ll talk through chaturanga mechanics, warm up the body for a physical practice, and also learn how to use blocks and straps to further enhance your yoga training.
