Did you know that practicing even the most beginner yoga poses engages your entire body? If done mindfully, something as basic as Crescent Moon Pose, can promote all over stability and balance.
Crescent Moon Pose or Anjaneyasana (AHN-jah-nay-AHS-uh-nuh) is a dynamic standing yoga pose that stretches and strengthens the lower and upper body, and opens the sides of the body while improving concentration.

Crescent Moon Pose is a great asana for yogis of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Variations on this pose include lowering the back knee to your mat or keeping your hands on your front thigh instead of reaching overhead. Adding a low lunge benefits the heart as well, which makes it a great pose for runners, hikers and bikers.

Benefits of this pose include:

  • Opens the hips
  • Lengthens the sides of the body
  • Stretches the hips and quadriceps
  • Increases balance
  • Warms up the shoulders

It is the perfect pose to start your day, as it gets your blood flowing and face glowing!
